This work explores aspects of how we remember,
exploring themes of perception, representation
and the unreliable nature of memory.
As time passes, the memory of certain moments
or events become distorted. Even seconds after
a moment has passed we struggle to fill in the
detail – it has mutated into something very different
from what we actually experienced. Oftentimes
we remember things that were only of peripheral
interest at the time and forget that which was
the main focus. We exaggerate the beauty (or lack
of), the colour and lighting conditions, and in
trying to reconcile half forgotten elements of
the scene, we start to compose a mildly surreal
image in our mind’s eye.
